How to get to Nakano Nishi High School:
By train:
(15 minute walk) Follow the south exit of Shinshu Nakano Station on the Nagano Dentetsu Line. Turn left at the second intersection after you pass Seiyu. Turn right at the first traffic signal. Pass Harashin (grocery store) on your right. Nakano Nishi High School will be on your right.
By car:
You can get off the highway at the Shinshu Nakano IC exit. Turn right at the first traffic signal. Turn right at the Iwamizu Shrine Entrance intersection (there is a Lawson on the corner). At the second traffic signal, turn right. You will pass Harashin (grocery store) on your right. Nakano Nishi High School will be on your right.
History of Nakano Nishi High School:
1972: 7 towns allied to start planning for a high school in Nakano City
1984: Grand opening of Nakano Nishi High School
1992: English intensive course began at Nakano Nishi High School
2014: English intensive course ends at Nakano Nishi High School
2015: Nakano Nishi High School approved as a UNESCO school

There are 625 students in total at Nakano Nishi. 331 female and 294 male.
There are 200 first grade students. 81 female and 119 male. (divided between 5 classes)
There are 197 second grade students. 105 female and 92 male. (divided between 5 classes)
There are 228 third grade students. 120 female and 108 male. (divided between 6 classes)
After graduation, about half of our students go to a 4-year university. About 35% of students will go to a vocational school to learn a trade, and about 10% of students will go to a junior college. The rest will do other things.
Library:
The school's library has 25,000 book, including manga, comics, magazines, encyclopedias, and popular novels.
