Nakano Nishi High School was the first high school in
Nagano Prefecture to be recognized as a UNESCO school. Our school’s
goal is to create new values and action that lead to the resolution of issues
through ESD activities (think globally, and act locally). There are various practices cenetered on the three pillars of environmental conservation, understanding of different cultures and collaboration with local communities.
2019 UNESCO Week Example:
1. Morning UNESCO Test:
- There are some questions about UNESCO. Those who pass the test will get a certificate and a snack.
2. Poster Display:
- made by UNESCO Committee students
3. Special UNESCO-themed Classes
- These classes are different from usual classes and focus on UNESCO's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
